Reports: Miller joining LeBron in Cleveland
Jul 15, 2014 - 11:00 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Cleveland Cavaliers have agreed with Mike Miller on a two-year, $5.5 million deal, according to multiple reports. The free-agent sharpshooter played alongside LeBron James for three seasons on the Miami Heat from 2010-13, helping them win back-to-back NBA titles before signing a free-agent deal with Memphis last summer.
James announced last week he was returning to play in Cleveland and ESPN.com reported Tuesday that it was James' persistence in recruiting Miller to play for the Cavs that steered the shooting guard in that direction.
Miller, 34, averaged 7.1 points over 82 games for the Grizzlies last season, shooting 48.1 percent from the field overall, including 45.9 percent from 3- point range.
He averaged 5.4 points in 139 games for the Heat and holds career averages of 11.8 points on 46.2 percent shooting -- including 40.9 percent on threes -- in 913 games with Orlando, Memphis, Minnesota, Washington and Miami.
