Suns waive Smith

Jul 15, 2014 - 11:33 PM Phoenix, AZ (SportsNetwork.com) - The Phoenix Suns waived guard Ish Smith on Tuesday.

Smith, 26, averaged 3.7 points and 2.6 assists while playing a career-high 14.4 minutes per game for the Suns last season.

"We thank Ish Smith for his contributions to the Suns," said the club's president of basketball operations Lon Babby. "He played with an infectious joy. We wish him well."

Phoenix was already the sixth stop during Smith's nomadic four-year career. He went undrafted out of Wake Forest in 2010 and has also played for the Rockets, Grizzlies, Warriors, Magic and Bucks.
