Raptors exercise options on Valanciunas, Ross
Oct 14, 2014 - 3:55 PM Toronto, ON (SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Raptors exercised the fourth- year team options on center Jonas Valanciunas and forward/guard Terrence Ross on Tuesday.The contracts for Valanciunas and Ross are now guaranteed through the 2015-16 season. Financial terms of the deals were not disclosed. The Raptors had until the end of October to exercise their option on both players.
Valanciunas has averaged 10.3 points, 7.6 rebounds and 26.3 minutes in 143 contests in his two seasons with the Raptors. Last year, the 7-foot, 255- pounder averaged 11.3 points and a team-leading 8.8 rebounds in 81 games, recording 26 double-doubles.
Ross has posted averages of 8.7 points and 2.6 rebounds in 154 games in his two campaigns with Toronto. Last season, he averaged 10.9 points and 3.1 rebounds in 73 contests.
