James, Lillard tabbed NBA Players of the Week

Nov 17, 2014 - 8:45 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James and Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard have been selected as the Eastern and Western Conference Players of the Week, respectively, for the period of Nov. 10-16.

James captured his first weekly award since returning to the Cavaliers by averaging a league-best 35 points over three games -- all Cleveland wins. The four-time NBA MVP added 7.7 assists and 7.0 rebounds while shooting 59.4 percent from the field over that stretch.

He just missed out on a triple double in Cleveland's victory over New Orleans on Nov. 10, compiling 32 points, 11 rebounds and nine assists. James followed up by racking up a season-best 41 points to lead the Cavs past Boston on Nov. 14.

Lillard also helped the Blazers post a perfect 3-0 week while averaging 28 points and 8.7 assists and shooting a torrid 70 percent (14-of-20) from 3- point range.

The 2012-13 NBA Rookie of the Year tallied at least 27 points in all three wins, including a 28-point, 10-assist double-double against Brooklyn on Saturday.

Others nominated for this week's award were Atlanta's Paul Millsap, Cleveland's Kyrie Irving, Dallas' Monta Ellis, Houston's James Harden, Indiana's A.J. Price, the Los Angeles Clippers' Chris Paul, Memphis' Mike Conley, New Orleans' Anthony Davis and Utah's Gordon Hayward.
