Roof leakage at Barclays Center delays Nets-Heat
Dec 17, 2014 - 4:30 AM Brooklyn, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - A leakage in the roof of the Barclays Center briefly delayed Tuesday's Brooklyn Nets-Miami Heat game late in the first quarter.Play was stopped with 1:47 remaining in the frame after water began dripping in front of the Nets' bench.
Towels and trash cans were used as temporary fixes. and both teams retreated to the locker room when there was no quick resolution.
Miami was leading 24-21 at the time.
Play resumed after 31 minutes. Workers temporarily stopped the leakage with a tarp and stayed on the roof trying to solve the issue.
The arena's Twitter feed released the following explanation:
"Tonight's delay was caused by a water leak due to the installation of our new green roof. We've taken all necessary steps to rectify."
