Anthony to play in Knicks-Suns tilt

Dec 20, 2014 - 4:47 PM New York, NY (SportsNetwork.com) - New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony will play in Saturday's game against the Phoenix Suns after sitting out the team's previous outing due to soreness in his left knee.

The Knicks have listed the 2012-13 NBA scoring champion as a starter for Saturday's contest on their Twitter feed.

Anthony did not dress for Thursday's game at Chicago, a 103-97 Knicks' loss, to rest his knee. He also missed a game at San Antonio on Dec. 10 with the injury before playing in the team's next three outings.

The seven-time All-Star is averaging 23.4 points and 6.6 rebounds in 24 games this season.

Forward Amar'e Stoudemire (rest) and guard J.R. Smith (heel) will not participate for New York in Saturday's matchup.
