Love diagnosed with dislocated left shoulder

Apr 26, 2015 - 9:53 PM Boston, MA (SportsNetwork.com) - Cleveland Cavaliers forward Kevin Love said Kelly Olynyk was trying to hurt him and his teammates seemed to agree.

Game 4 of the Eastern Conference quarterfinals turned chippy between the Cavs and Boston Celtics after Love left in the first quarter with what was later diagnosed as a separated shoulder.

The Cavs swept the Celtics, leading comfortably most of the way in a 101-93 win on Sunday, but will now await Love's status for their semifinal series against either Chicago or Milwaukee.

Love was injured when Olynyk clutched him as the two players went to chase after a loose ball, jarring Love's arm away from his body.

In a distressing scene, Love grabbed at his left shoulder as he ran the length of the court, past the Cavs bench and into the tunnel.

Love, who will have tests in Cleveland to determine the extent of his injury, told reporters after the game that it was a "bush-league play" and he had "no doubt" Olynyk did it on purpose. He said the NBA "better be swift and just" in its reaction.

"If that's what he thinks," Cavs coach David Blatt said, "he was the closest person to the play."

Blatt hadn't seen the replay by the time he gave his postgame news conference, but Cavaliers players watched it and agreed with Love.

"I saw the replay and it didn't look like a basketball play," LeBron James said. "I've seen a lot of tie ups in my day and that was a little different."

Added guard Kyrie Irving, "I think it was a shared feeling that it just wasn't a basketball play."

The Cavs probably won't start a second-round series until next weekend.

Love averaged 18.3 points over his first three career playoff games and had two points before leaving Sunday.

The series finale on Sunday featured plenty of chippy play.

Cleveland's Kendrick Perkins was whistled for a flagrant foul and also picked up a technical in the second quarter after shoving Boston's Jae Crowder to the court while setting a pick.

Crowder, who had been guarding Cavs star LeBron James near the sideline, also received a technical foul after he and Perkins jawed at each other in a scrum.

Cleveland's J.R. Smith was ejected in the third quarter for hitting Crowder while trying box out the Celtics forward. Crowder gave Smith a little shove in the back and Smith connected with his right hand as he wheeled around in the direction of the ball.

Crowder left the game with what Boston said was a left knee sprain suffered on the same play.
