Dallas Mavericks 2015 Draft Preview

Jun 23, 2015 - 4:06 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Dallas Mavericks could have a very different look to their roster next season.

Rajon Rondo will not be back. That we know. He burned every bridge out of Dallas, but Tyson Chandler is a free agent. Monta Ellis has a player option and after signing a team-friendly deal, he'll likely opt out and test the waters. That doesn't mean he'll necessarily be in another uniform next season, but it will cost the Mavs to bring him back.

Several key role players are also free agents like Al-Farouq Aminu (player option) and J.J. Barea.

Dallas will have money to spend. The Mavs always do because Mark Cuban is a shrewd business man. There's a reality show to prove it, but he doesn't sign players to max deals unless they deserve it. Dallas could make a splash in free agency this offseason.

As for the draft, with so many potential holes that won't be filled by draft night, the Mavs can look at any position.

Dallas might covet Cameron Payne from Murray State as a possible replacement for Rondo. He's most likely gone by then. Notre Dame's Jerian Grant is probably gone by No. 21 as well.

Arkansas' Bobby Portis, or UCLA's Kevon Looney are tantalizing prospects. Does Dallas want to a long-term guy, or someone who can contribute immediately to a playoff team with roster spots open?

UNLV's Rashad Vaughn, or Delon Wright from Utah, a long point guard, might fit backcourt needs. Vaughn's a scoring wing.
