Orlando Magic 2015 Draft Preview

Jun 23, 2015 - 4:11 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Orlando Magic can't seem to really make any progress.

This team is littered with solid, young players, but has no superstar. They are hard to find, but the Magic need someone to take over this organization on the floor.

Tobias Harris is a free agent, but Orlando most likely will do what it can to retain him.

Scott Skiles will guide the team he once played for. He will demand accountability.

The Magic are hoping desperately that Latvian forward Kristaps Porzingis will be there at five. Orlando loves him, he loves the Magic. It seems like a good fit considering he has as much superstar potential as anyone left at No. 5.

Porzingis is a great shooter for a 6-foot-11 player who can also block shots. He's got the chance to be really special. Will he be there? The Philadelphia 76ers apparently are interested at three, but Sam Hinkie is interested in everyone.

If Porzingis isn't there, Croatian sharp-shooter Mario Hezonja. Orlando badly needs shooting. Victor Oladipo is a great, high-energy combo guard, but he's not consistent from the perimeter. Hezonja can shoot the ball and has sneaky athleticism.

Willie Cauley-Stein might be a name to watch if Porzingis is gone. The Kentucky center could fill a huge void with his shot-blocking ability and overall defensive prowess. He'd make for a nice pairing alongside Nikola Vucevic.

Orlando will get a quality player who might even fit a need. If it isn't Porzingis, it's going to be just another really nice piece without the alpha piece that ties it together.
