Toronto Raptors 2015 Draft Preview

Jun 23, 2015 - 4:12 PM (SportsNetwork.com) - The Toronto Raptors have won the Atlantic Division the last two seasons, but have been bumped from the playoffs in the first round both times.

There needs to be some change, otherwise there's no reason to think things will go differently.

Toronto might have some holes to fill if Amir Johnson, an underrated grunt, and Lou Williams bolt via free agency. Williams, according to reports, is interested in testing the market.

The Raptors have an All-Star backcourt with Kyle Lowry and DeMar DeRozan. Jonas Valanciunas is an emerging center. After that, Toronto could use an infusion of talent.

Arizona's Rondae Hollis-Jefferson is a name that's been linked to Toronto for some time. He's a slasher and defender, but not much of a shooter. The Raptors could use help at the small forward spot. Kansas' Kelly Oubre could be another option at that spot.

UCLA's Kevon Looney is a long power forward who is raw. He could be a long- term answer for Johnson, who could be brought back on a reasonable deal. Louisville's Montrezl Harrell is an interesting prospect.

Raptors' general manager Masai Ujiri went against the grain last year with Bruno Caboclo. He could always stun us, but the Raptors aren't a team that should wait for projects to develop. They have a strong core and the Eastern Conference is weak.

The time is now for the Raptors. They need an immediate impact guy.
