Dec 14, 2007 - 4:23 AM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker and forward Tim Duncan sat out Thursday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers with ankle injuries.

Parker, who missed his first game of the season, finally succumbed to sore ankles after Thursday morning's shootaround. The reigning NBA Finals MVP, he has averaged 20.1 points and 6.8 assists through 21 games this season.

Parker was joined on the sidelines by Duncan, who sat out his fourth straight contest with a sprained right ankle. He has averaged 17.6 points and 8.9 rebounds in 18 games.

Despite injuries this campaign, the defending champion Spurs entered Thursday's game with a 17-4 record - second best in the NBA. San Antonio is 2-1 without Duncan after Tuesday's loss to the Golden State Warriors.
