Nuggets F Anthony day-to-day

Jan 22, 2008 - 9:26 PM DENVER (Ticker) -- The Denver Nuggets may be without Carmelo Anthony for the immediate future.

Anthony still is experiencing swelling and discomfort in his sprained left ankle and is listed as day-to-day, the Nuggets announced Tuesday.

Anthony suffered the injury in the second quarter of Monday's 116-99 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers.

The star forward took a jump shot and landed on Kobe Bryant's foot, rolling his left ankle. He was taken to the locker room for X-rays, which were negative.

After being re-evaluated Tuesday, the 6-8 Anthony was listed as doubtful for Wednesday's game with the Atlanta Hawks.

Anthony, 23, is averaging 25.5 points and 7.0 rebounds in 40 games this season for the Nuggets.
