Varejao to undergo MRI
Jan 28, 2008 - 4:08 PM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- Cleveland Cavaliers forward Anderson Varejao will undergo an MRI on his injured left ankle Monday.Varejao was injured with 3:12 left in third quarter of Sunday's game against the Los Angeles Lakers following a made layup by LeBron James, when he landed awkwardly on Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic's foot on his way down.
The 6-10 Brazilian was helped off the floor by the Cavaliers' training staff and did not return. X-rays following the game were negative.
Varejao is averaging 7.8 points and 8.5 rebounds this season.
Cleveland, which has won 10 of its last 12 games, visits Portland on Wednesday.
