Celtics' Garnett, Allen sit out
Jan 30, 2008 - 12:53 AM MIAMI (Ticker) -- Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen will not play in Tuesday night's game against the Miami Heat, leaving the Boston Celtics without two of their "Big Three."Garnett also missed Sunday's 96-93 loss to the Orlando Magic with an abdominal strain, which was suffered in the second half of Friday's 87-86 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The All-Star forward, who was the top vote-getter for this February's game, left that contest in the second half but returned in the waning minutes to secure a victory against his old team with a crucial steal as time expired.
Garnett will be sidelined along with Allen, who has the flu. The sharp-shooting guard had to be transported to the hospital Tuesday morning for fluids.
Garnett and Allen were acquired in offseason to join Paul Pierce on the revamped Celtics, who own the NBA's best record at 34-8 entering Tuesday's play.
No one has shouted yet.
