Pavlovic, Varejao still out for Cavs

Feb 8, 2008 - 6:18 PM CLEVELAND (Ticker) - The Cleveland Cavaliers' injury worries show no sign of easing.

Sasha Pavlovic and Anderson Varejao will both miss Saturday's game against the Atlanta Hawks while Daniel Gibson is listed as doubtful and Drew Gooden will be a game-time decision, the team announced Friday.

Pavlovic, Varejao and Gooden all sat out Thursday's 92-77 loss to Houston, a game in which LeBron James had 32 points and seven rebounds, but got little help.

Pavlovic, a 6-7 swingman from Serbia, is out with a left midfoot sprain. Pavlovic is averaging 7.3 points and 2.7 rebounds per game for the Cavaliers this season.

Varejao has now missed five games with a left ankle sprain. The 6-10 Brazilian center is averaging 7.8 points and 8.5 rebounds per game this season.

Thursday was the first game that Gooden has missed this season. The fifth-year forward out of Kansas is averaging 11.3 points and 8.5 rebounds, but is sidelined by right groin strain.

Gibson suffered a strained right hamstring during Thursday's loss. He played just under 19 minutes, scoring five points and grabbing two rebounds, dropping his season averages to 11.6 points and 2.5 rebounds.
