Horford, Scola earn rookie honors
Mar 3, 2008 - 10:33 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Atlanta Hawks center Al Horford and Houston Rockets forward Luis Scola on Monday were named the NBA's Rookies of the Month for February.Horford recorded seven of his rookie-high 16 double-doubles during the month. He set career highs with 20 rebounds against the Los Angeles Lakers on February 6 and 20 points vs. the New York Knicks on Friday.
Horford became the first Hawk to grab 20 rebounds in a game since Alan Henderson achieved the feat on November 26, 2002.
Scola helped the Rockets to a 13-0 mark last month by leading all rookies with a .629 shooting percentage. He also made a career-high five steals against the Memphis Grizzlies on Friday, the most by a Rockets player in a game this season.
