Spurs F Bowen suspended one game
Mar 14, 2008 - 7:41 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Bruce Bowen's streak of 500 consecutive games played will come to an end.The San Antonio Spurs forward was suspended one game without pay for striking New Orleans Hornets guard Chris Paul with his leg, the NBA announced Friday.
The incident occurred following a foul call on Paul with 5:15 remaining in the third quarter of the Spurs' 100-75 loss to the Hornets on Wednesday.
The suspension will end the longest active consecutive games played streak in the NBA. Philadelphia 76ers guard Andre Miller will now hold the active record at 431 straight contests.
Bowen will serve his suspension Friday when the Spurs visit the Detroit Pistons.
