Celtics G Allen leaves game
Mar 15, 2008 - 1:19 AM BOSTON (Ticker) -- Boston Celtics guard Ray Allen jammed his left ankle in the first quarter of Friday's game against the Utah Jazz and will not return to the contest.Allen led Boston with nine first-half points before slipping while driving to the basket and landing awkwardly on his left foot. He was evaluated at halftime by trainer Ed Lacerte and team doctor Alan Curtis.
Immediately following halftime, the Celtics announced Allen would not return and his availability for Saturday's game at Milwaukee is not known.
Allen is third on the Celtics this season with 18.4 points per game entering Friday's play.
