Hawks' Bibby leaves with thumb injury

Mar 27, 2008 - 1:23 AM ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Atlanta Hawks point guard Mike Bibby left Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks with a left thumb injury.

He missed the first 36 games of the season while with the Sacramento Kings after having surgery on that thumb.

Bibby, 29, left the game at the 11:15 mark of the fourth quarter after being hit on the hand by Milwaukee center Dan Gadzuric.

The 10-year veteran, who was acquired from the Kings on February 16, was taken back to the locker room where an X-ray was taken on the injury.

A native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Bibby was averaging 13.2 points and 6.6 assists in 21 games for the Hawks (30-39), who are one-half game ahead of the New Jersey Nets (30-41) for the final playoff spot in the East entering Wednesday's play.
