Hawks' Bibby leaves with thumb injury
Mar 27, 2008 - 1:23 AM ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Atlanta Hawks point guard Mike Bibby left Wednesday's game against the Milwaukee Bucks with a left thumb injury.He missed the first 36 games of the season while with the Sacramento Kings after having surgery on that thumb.
Bibby, 29, left the game at the 11:15 mark of the fourth quarter after being hit on the hand by Milwaukee center Dan Gadzuric.
The 10-year veteran, who was acquired from the Kings on February 16, was taken back to the locker room where an X-ray was taken on the injury.
A native of Cherry Hill, New Jersey, Bibby was averaging 13.2 points and 6.6 assists in 21 games for the Hawks (30-39), who are one-half game ahead of the New Jersey Nets (30-41) for the final playoff spot in the East entering Wednesday's play.
