Gibson expected to play for Cavs

Mar 29, 2008 - 6:27 PM AKRON, Ohio (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers are expected to have Daniel Gibson back in the lineup when they face the Detroit Pistons on Saturday, according to a report on the Akron Beacon Journal web site.

The guard has missed the last 19 games with a left high-ankle sprain.

The 21-year-old Gibson, who captured MVP honors in the Rookie-Sophomore game during All-Star Weekend, suffered the injury last month when Indiana's Travis Diener rolled into his leg while diving for a loose ball.

"I'm not 100 percent, not yet," Gibson told the newspaper. "There are things I am limited from doing, but I am capable of being productive."

The 6-2 sharpshooter is averaging 11.5 points and 2.5 assists in 48 games with the Cavaliers this season.

Another injured Cavalier, center Ben Wallace will likely miss Saturday's game and Sunday's contest against Philadelphia due to a back injury.
