Nuggets F Anthony, Bobcats G Richardson honored by NBA

Mar 31, 2008 - 7:40 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Carmelo Anthony's strong play has helped the Denver Nuggets stay in the postseason hunt.

On Monday, Anthony was named the Western Conference's Player of the Week.

Charlotte Bobcats guard Jason Richardson took home the Eastern Conference honors.

Anthony averaged 26.7 points, 8.7 rebounds and 6.3 rebounds last week, leading the Nuggets to a 3-0 mark. Anthony led the way as Denver (45-28), which is currently seventh in the West, defeated both Dallas (45-28) and Golden State (45-28).

Anthony recorded 32 points, 10 rebounds and eight assists in a 118-105 win over the Mavericks on Thursday. He followed that up with 25 points, seven rebounds and six assists in a 119-112 win over the Warriors on Saturday.

Richardson helped the Bobcats to a 3-1 mark last week, averaging 26.8 points and 6.8 rebounds.
