Horford, Durant earn rookie honors
Apr 1, 2008 - 7:01 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Atlanta Hawks center Al Horford and Seattle SuperSonics swingman Kevin Durant on Tuesday were named the NBA's Rookies of the Month for March.Horford recorded six double-doubles during the month, averaging 11.9 points and 8.7 rebounds. He tied career-highs of 20 points and six assists with 15 rebounds in a 125-117 loss to the New Jersey Nets on March 19.
Durant led all rookies for the month with 21.8 points per game. He also ranked second in the league during March in free-throw percentage at .903.
The second-overall pick in last June's draft, Durant leads all rookies this season by averaging 19.9 points.
