Denver F Martin suspended

Apr 3, 2008 - 9:04 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- Denver Nuggets forward Kenyon Martin was suspended for one game without pay for exceeding the flagrant foul points total, the NBA announced Thursday.

Martin was assessed a penalty-one flagrant foul for striking Boris Diaw of the Phoenix Suns in the face with 3:52 remaining in the third quarter of Denver's 126-120 win Tuesday.

If a player's season total exceeds five points, he will receive an automatic suspension following the game in which his point total exceeds five points and for each additional flagrant foul committed during that season.

Martin will serve the suspension on Saturday when the Nuggets host the Sacramento Kings.
