Wizards' Arenas sits out

Apr 6, 2008 - 12:46 AM CHICAGO (Ticker) -- Washington Wizards point guard Gilbert Arenas will not suit up when his club faces the Chicago Bulls on Saturday.

The move is seen as a precautionary measure by Washington (39-37), which is currently tied with Philadelphia (39-37) for fifth place in the Eastern Conference entering Saturday's play.

Arenas, 26, just returned to action Wednesday in a 110-109 loss to the Milwaukee Bucks after missing 66 games recovering from surgery on his left knee.

The three-time All-Star scored 19 points in that game, then netted 13 and added eight assists in a 109-95 win against the Miami Heat on Friday. But the Wizards did not want Arenas playing in back-to-back contests.

Fellow All-Star Antawn Jamison also was held out of Saturday's starting lineup. In his 10th season, Jamison has recently been battling a sore shoulder.
