Rockets' F Battier to miss game
Apr 11, 2008 - 6:11 PM PHOENIX (Ticker) - Houston Rockets forward Shane Battier is out for Friday's game against the Phoenix Suns, according to a report on the Arizona Republic's web site.Battier suffered a left foot injury in Wednesday's 103-80 win over Seattle when he inadvertently kicked Kevin Durant's shin.
Considered a Defensive Player of the Year candidate, Battier is averaging 9.3 points and 5.1 rebounds this season.
Luther Head is expected to start in place of Battier, who will miss his first game in two seasons with the Rockets.
