Cavaliers' Pavlovic to miss 2-3 weeks

Apr 15, 2008 - 7:02 PM CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Similar to the start of the regular season, Sasha Pavlovic will not be around for the beginning of the playoffs.

The Cleveland Cavaliers' swingman will miss the next two to three weeks with a left ankle sprain, the team announced on Tuesday.

Pavlovic suffered the injury in the third quarter of Monday's last-second 91-90 victory over Philadelphia, landing awkwardly following a jumper on the left baseline with 7:11 remaining. He underwent an MRI on Tuesday morning to confirm the injury.

Getting two free throws from Devin Brown with two-tenths of a second left after a controversial foul was called, Cleveland wrapped up the fourth spot in the Eastern Conference.

Yet, when the Cavaliers begin their quest to return to the NBA Finals, they will not have the services of Pavlovic, who also missed the beginning of the regular season due to a contract holdout.

In his fourth season with Cleveland, Pavlovic has averaged 7.4 points and 2.5 rebounds in 51 games, including 45 starts.
