Report: Mavs fire Avery Johnson

BRISTOL, Connecticut (Ticker) -- The Dallas Mavericks reportedly have cut ties with head coach Avery Johnson.

One day after being eliminated from the Western Conference playoffs, the Mavericks fired Johnson on Wednesday, according to a report on ESPN.com.

Johnson guided Dallas to a 51-31 record this past season, his fourth with the team.
