Hawks F Williams uncertain for Game Seven
May 3, 2008 - 7:27 PM ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Atlanta Hawks forward Marvin Williams will be listed as doubtful for Sunday's Game Seven against the Boston Celtics.Williams, who sprained his left knee in the fourth quarter of Friday's Game Six, took part in his team's walkthrough at Philips Arena on Saturday. However, his knee was iced and heavily taped.
Prior to getting hurt, Williams came up with his best game of the series, scoring 18 points. He made 6-of-9 shots from the field and hit all six of his free throws.
Williams, who was injured with under nine minutes remaining after colliding with Paul Pierce, did re-enter the game with 20 seconds left.
The second overall pick in the 2005 draft, Williams is averaging 12.2 points in the Eastern Conference first-round series.
Reaching a Game Seven seemed like stretch for the Hawks, who won 29 fewer games than the league-leading Celtics during the regular season. But now they are a win away from pulling off the greatest upset in playoff history.
No one has shouted yet.
