Jazz G Korver has successful surgery

Jun 5, 2008 - 11:05 PM SALT LAKE CITY (Ticker) -- Utah Jazz shooting guard Kyle Korver on Wednesday had successful surgery to remove a bone spur from his left foot, the team announced Thursday.

The procedure was performed by Dr. Jonathan Deland in New York City.

Korver, whose foot will be re-examined in two weeks, is expected to be able to start working out in a pool in approximately three weeks.

Acquired from the Philadelphia 76ers on December 29, Korver was instrumental in Utah's stellar play in the second half of the season. He appeared in 50 games for the Jazz - all as a reserve - and averaged 9.8 points and 2.0 rebounds in 21.5 minutes.

Korver also saw action in all 12 of Utah's playoff games, contributing 7.8 points and 2.2 rebounds per contest. The Jazz lost to the Los Angeles Lakers in six games in the Western Conference semifinals.
