Cavs G Gibson has ankle surgery
Jun 10, 2008 - 8:51 PM CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- Cleveland Cavaliers guard Daniel Gibson underwent successful ankle surgery Tuesday.Gibson, 22, had arthroscopic debridement and loose body removal in his left ankle during an operation performed in his hometown of Houston.
Gibson is expected to start rehabilitation work next week and be ready for the upcoming training camp and NBA season next fall.
A two-year veteran, Gibson averaged 10.4 points, 2.3 rebounds and 2.5 assists in 58 games for Cleveland this past season. He averaged 9.0 points in 11 playoff games in 2008 but missed the final two contests of the Eastern Conference semifinals against the Boston Celtics.
