Nets sign C Lopez, F Anderson

Jul 2, 2008 - 8:29 PM EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Nets on Wednesday signed center Brook Lopez and forward Ryan Anderson, their first-round picks in last week's NBA draft.

Selected 10th overall, the 7-foot Lopez will receive $1.75 million this season, $1.88 million next season and $2.01 million in 2010-11 in accordance with the NBA's rookie pay scale.

Anderson, the 21st pick, will make $1.02 million, $1.11 million and $1.17 million.

Lopez, who played alongside his twin brother Robin at Stanford, led the defensive-minded Cardinal in scoring (19.3 ppg) and rebounding (8.2) while finishing just behind Robin in blocks (2.1). Robin was drafted 15th overall by Phoenix.

Anderson led the Pac-10 Conference in scoring last season at 21.1 points per game and also averaged 9.9 rebounds. The California product also set a school record for points by a sophomore with 697.
