ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- The Orlando Magic have signed Golden State Warriors free agent shooting guard Mickael Pietrus to a multi-year contract, Magic general manager Otis Smith told the Florida Today newspaper on Tuesday.
Pietrus will receive the mid-level exception and make close to $5.2 million this season, according to the report.
The 6-6, 200-pound Pietrus, who has spent five seasons with the Warriors, averaged 7.7 points and 3.7 rebounds last campaign. The native of France is averaging 8.6 points for his career.
The newspaper is reporting that the signing of Pietrus will end the Magic's pursuit of Los Angeles Clippers free agent Corey Maggette.
