MILWAUKEE (Ticker) -- The Milwaukee Bucks and center Andrew Bogut agreed on a five-year, $60 million extension on Wednesday, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel.

The deal, which was announced after the league-wide moratorium was lifted, could be worth as much as $72.5 million with bonuses.

"We're very pleased we were able to make a deal with the Bucks at this time," Bogut's agent David Bauman told the Journal-Sentinel. "He feels extremely valued by the franchise and feels he is an important piece going forward. The goal driving him is to win games and make the playoffs."

The first overall pick of the 2005 draft, Bogut had a breakthrough season in 2007-08, averaging 14.4 points and 9.8 rebounds and 1.7 blocks in 78 games. The 7-foot, 245-pound Australian has averaged 11.9 points and 8.5 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 226 games with Milwaukee.
