Spurs sign G Mason
Jul 11, 2008 - 11:39 PM SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs signed free agent guard Roger Mason on Friday.Terms of the deal were not disclosed but the San Antonio Express-News reported that it is a two-year deal.
Mason appeared in 80 games, averaging a career-best 9.1 points and 1.7 assists, for the Washington Wizards last season, his second with the team.
The 6-5 guard was originally drafted by the Chicago Bulls with the 31st pick in the 2002 NBA draft, but only appeared in 43 games with the Bulls and Toronto Raptors during his first stint in the league from 2002-04. He averaged 2.9 points per game over that span.
Mason played in 60 games with the Wizards during the 2006-07 campaign, scoring 2.7 points in 8.0 minutes per contest.
