Raptors sign Croatian G Ukic
Jul 16, 2008 - 9:24 PM TORONTO (Ticker) -- The Toronto Raptors went overseas to add some depth Wednesday, signing Croatian guard Roko Ukic to a three-year contract.Financial terms were not disclosed.
Ukic, 22, spent last season with Italian club Lottomatica Virtus Roma, averaging 11.5 points and 2.8 assists. He shot 55 percent from the floor and 82 percent from the free-throw line.
The 6-5 Ukic is a member of the Croatian national team currently competing in the FIBA Olympic qualifying tournament in Athens, Greece. He also has played professionally in Croatia and Spain.
