Blazers sign G/F Batum
Jul 22, 2008 - 11:28 PM PORTLAND, Oregon(Ticker) -- The Portland Trail Blazers on Tuesday signed rookie swingman Nicolas Batum.Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
The Trail Blazers acquired the rights to Batum, the 25th overall pick in June's draft, from Houston in a draft day trade for the rights to forward Darrell Arthur (27th overall) and center Joey Dorsey (33rd overall).
The 19-year-old Batum played the last three seasons for MSB Le Mans in the French ProA League, averaging 12.3 points, 5.0 rebounds, 3.6 assists and 1.33 steals in 2007-08.
The 6-8, 190-pound Batum also averaged 6.8 points, 4.6 rebounds in five games during the Las Vegas Summer League.
