Nuggets sign F-C Andersen
Jul 24, 2008 - 8:08 PM DENVER (Ticker) -- The Denver Nuggets signed forward-center Chris Andersen on ThursdayTerms of the deal were not disclosed but the Denver Post is reporting that it is for one year and worth $998,000.
Denver traded away the two-time Defensive Player of the Year Marcus Camby to the Los Angeles Clippers on July 15, and are hoping Andersen can help fill the void in the frontcourt.
The 6-10 Andersen played his first three seasons with the Nuggets and has career averages of 5.0 points and 4.7 rebounds over his six-year career.
The "Birdman" was suspended for two years for violating the league's substance abuse policy before returning to the New Orleans Hornets last season, playing in five games.
