Clippers acquire F Nowak from Rockets
Aug 6, 2008 - 11:11 PM LOS ANGELES (Ticker) -- The Los Angeles Clippers on Wednesday acquired forward Steve Novak from the Houston Rockets.In return, the Rockets will have the option to exchange second-round picks with the Clippers in the 2011 draft.
Novak averaged 3.9 points per game while connecting on 34-of-71 3-point attempts in 35 contests with Houston last season.
"Steve is a terrific perimeter shooter who will definitely help open the floor and create more opportunities for our post players," said Elgin Baylor, the Clippers' vice president of basketball operations. "We are happy to bring him to Los Angeles."
"We are pleased to add Steve to our roster," Los Angeles coach Mike Dunleavy added. "He is an excellent shooter who will help us space the floor and keep defenses honest."
