SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- The San Antonio Spurs have brought back one of their key veterans for at least one more championship run Friday, re-signing swingman Michael Finley.
Terms were not disclosed, but his Finley's agent, Henry Thomas, told the San Antonio Express-News that it is a multi-year deal worth more than the veteran minimum of $1.3 million.
"Obviously, Michael had a great first three years in San Antonio," Thomas told the newspaper. "He took his time (deciding to re-sign), because he had some interest from other contending teams. He just wanted to evaluate everything and make sure he made the right decision."
A member of the Spurs' 2006-07 championship team, Finley has spent his last three seasons with the team. He played in all 82 games with 61 starts this past season, averaging 10.1 points.
The former All-Star has averaged 16.7 points in his career.
A 14-year veteran originally drafted 21st overall by the Phoenix Suns in 1995, Finley has made 1,291 career 3-pointers to rank 16th all-time.
