CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- The Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday signed forward Darnell Jackson, whose rights were acquired from the Miami Heat during this year's draft.

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Jackson played for the Cavaliers' summer league team in Las Vegas, averaging 5.8 points and 5.4 rebounds in four games.

"Darnell has showed us he is a young, smart, hard-working player," Cleveland general manager Danny Ferry said. "We are excited to see his development continue now."

The 6-8, 250-pound Jackson played on Kansas' national championship team last season, averaging 11.2 points and a team-high 6.7 rebounds in 40 games, including 35 starts.
