ORLANDO, Florida (Ticker) -- Orlando Magic forward Pat Garrity announced his retirement Thursday.
The Magic's longest-tenured player, Garrity had been with the club since 1999 after being acquired from the Phoenix Suns as part of the Penny Hardaway trade.
Garrity, 32, appeared in 513 regular-season games with the Magic, the second-most in franchise history.
"I am so grateful for being able to play for as long as I have and to have established long lasting roots in Orlando," Garrity said.
Garrity has played in 552 regular-season games in his career, averaging 7.3 points and 2.6 rebounds. He shot just under 40 percent (631-of-1,587) from 3-point range.
"We thank Pat for his professionalism, character and leadership," Magic general manager Otis Smith said. "He gave us nine wonderful seasons and we certainly wish him all the best as he begins this next chapter in his life."
