BILLINGS, Montana (Ticker) -- Rashad McCants scored 13 of his 15 points in the fourth quarter as the Minnesota Timberwolves pulled away for an 88-82 exhibition victory over the Oklahoma City Thunder on Wednesday.
McCants shot just 3-of-10 from the field, but did connect on all eight of his free throws to lift Minnesota to a 2-0 start in preseason play.
Oklahoma City was playing in its first game since relocating from Seattle during the offseason.
Trailing, 66-62, with just under 10 minutes remaining, McCants hit a jumper and later added a 3-pointer for a 67-66 edge with 8:44 remaining.
After the Thunder knotted the score at 71-71 on a jumper by Damien Wilkins with 6:39 left, McCants went on to score six of the game's next seven points, making it 78-71 on a pair of free throws with 3:36 to play.
Al Jefferson finished with 13 points and nine rebounds and Corey Brewer scored 11 for the Timberwolves, who ended up 21-of-27 from the stripe.
Wilkins scored 19 points and Chris Wilcox added 17 for Oklahoma City. Kevin Durant ended up with 10 points on 3-of-13 shooting.
