NEW JERSEY 94, MIAMI 92 -----------------------

LONDON (Ticker) -- Vince Carter gave an early sign of the leadership that he will provide for the young New Jersey Nets, scoring five points in the final minute to secure a 94-92 victory over the Miami Heat in a NBA Europe Live preseason matchup.

Carter went on to finish with 19 points for New Jersey, which beat Miami for the second straight time after posting a 100-98 overtime victory in Paris on Thursday.

In another tight affair, Carter snapped an 86-86 tie with 50 seconds left on a turnaround jumper in the lane. After Yi Jianlian blocked a shot by Miami's Joel Anthony on the other end, Carter looked to add to the lead with another jumper.

Although Carter missed, the Nets' young front line of Yi and Brook Lopez hit the glass, with the rookie from Stanford getting credit for the tip and a 90-86 advantage with 18 seconds left.

After Dwyane Wade and New Jersey's Devin Harris both split a pair of free throws, Miami closed within 91-89 when Shawn Marion tipped in a missed layup by Wade with 9.7 ticks remaining.

UTAH 93, PORTLAND 80 --------------------

PORTLAND, Oregon (Ticker) -- Kyle Korver and Mehmet Okur both scored 11 points in the second half as the Utah Jazz rolled to a 93-80 exhibition victory over a shorthanded Portland Trail Blazers squad.

French rookie Nicolas Batum scored 16 points and Travis Outlaw added 14 for Portland, which dropped to 2-2 in exhibition play.

Trailing 38-35 at the break after shooting just 34 percent (13-of-38) from the field, the Jazz took control of the contest late in the third quarter, using an array of turnovers by the Trail Blazers to put together a 13-1 run.
