OKLAHOMA CITY (Ticker) -- Oklahoma Thunder rookie forward D.J. White recently underwent surgery to remove a benign growth from his jaw.
The surgery, which took place Monday, will keep White sidelined four to six months, which could cause him to miss the entire season.
In approximately six weeks, team physicians with perform a second phase of the surgery in which they will mend the jaw with a bone graft taken from White's jaw.
Taken by the Detroit Pistons with the 29th overall pick in this year's draft, White was acquired by the Thunder in a draft day trade.
