Texans WR Davis to miss three weeks

Oct 23, 2008 - 2:16 AM HOUSTON (Ticker) -- Houston Texans wide receiver Andre Davis put off surgery as long as he could.

Davis is expected to miss three weeks after undergoing surgery Monday to repair a dislocated ring finger on his left hand that had been bothering him since preseason.

"They put a pin in his finger," Texans coach Gary Kubiak said. "I think the pin has to be in there for two to three weeks. He came out of surgery and everything was fine. He's just not feeling very good. He's just been nauseated and not feeling well."

Davis has seven receptions for 123 yards and also has 26 kickoffs for an average of 22.2 yards per return.

"He can't play with the pin in because it's actually sticking out of the skin," Kubiak said. "I've been told three weeks at most."

The Texans, who have won two in a row following an 0-4 start, host the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
