Nets exercise contract options on three players
Oct 30, 2008 - 9:39 PM EAST RUTHERFORD, New Jersey (Ticker) -- The New Jersey Nets picked up the contract options for the 2009-10 season on center Josh Boone and forwards Sean Williams and Yi Jianlian on Thursday.Boone, who was selected with the 23rd pick in the 2006 draft, has averaged 6.3 points and 5.2 rebounds over his first two seasons with New Jersey.
A Boston College product who was drafted with the 17th pick in 2007, Williams was selected to the Rookie All-Star team last season. He averaged 5.6 points and 4.4 rebounds in 73 games during his rookie campaign.
Yi was the sixth overall pick by Milwaukee last year. He was traded to the Nets with Bobby Simmons for Richard Jefferson this offseason after collecting 8.6 points and 5.2 rebounds per game with the Bucks last season.
The Nets declined the fourth-year option on forward-guard Maurice Ager.
