Spurs G Parker leaves game with left ankle injury

Nov 8, 2008 - 5:16 AM SAN ANTONIO (Ticker) -- San Antonio Spurs guard Tony Parker likely will miss at least two weeks after leaving Friday's 99-83 loss to the Miami Heat late in the first quarter with a left ankle injury.

He underwent X-rays, which came back negative, but is expected to undergo an MRI within the next few days.

"It's pretty swollen," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "He'll be out two to four weeks, probably."

With just under two minutes remaining in the opening period, Parker drove the lane and tried to pull up but planted awkwardly on his left foot and collapsed. He left the floor with four points on 2-of-5 shooting.

Coming off a career performance with 55 points in the Spurs' overtime victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday, Parker is the team's leading scorer this season at 33.2 points per game.

The Spurs are already without his backcourt mate, Manu Ginobili, who is still recovering from surgery to repair a torn ligament in his left ankle.
