Hawks F Josh Smith out 2-4 weeks
Nov 8, 2008 - 3:39 AM ATLANTA (Ticker) -- Atlanta Hawks forward Josh Smith will miss two to four weeks with a high left ankle sprain.Smith left Friday's 110-92 win over the Toronto Raptors seconds before halftime with the injury.
Smith, who had averaged 14.7 points and 10.0 rebounds entering the contest, scored six points before his departure and did not return.
The 22-year-old Smith signed a five-year, $58 million deal in the offseason after averaging a career-high 17.2 points last season.
Thanks in part to Smith, Atlanta - which made its first playoff appearance in nine years last season - has won its first four games. It is the best start to a campaign for the Hawks since they won 11 in a row to begin the 1997-98 season.
No one has shouted yet.
