Harris, Roy named NBA Players of the Week
Dec 1, 2008 - 8:02 PM NEW YORK (Ticker) -- New Jersey Nets guard Devin Harris and Portland Trail Blazers swingman Brandon Roy were named the NBA's Players of the Week on Monday.Harris earned the honor in the Eastern Conference after averaging a league-leading 30.0 points, 6.8 assists and 4.3 rebounds in New Jersey's four-game West Coast road trip last week.
The 6-3 Harris sank the game-winning jumper in Wednesday's 116-114 overtime victory at Sacramento. Four days later, he scored a career-high 47 points in Sunday's 117-109 upset of Phoenix.
Roy collected the Western Conference award by helping the Blazers win all four of their games this past week, averaging 20.0 points, 6.0 assists and 5.3 rebounds.
Other nominees for the awards were LeBron James, Chris Paul, Kobe Bryant, Dwight Howard and Yao Ming.
