James becomes Cavaliers' all-time steals leader

Dec 10, 2008 - 12:45 AM CLEVELAND (Ticker) -- LeBron James already hit a milestone Tuesday, becoming the Cleveland Cavaliers' all-time leader in steals.

The 23-year-old James, who entered the contest against the Toronto Raptors averaging a career-high 2.1 steals, registered his 735th career swipe midway through the first quarter to surpass the mark set by former point guard Mark Price.

The reigning scoring champion, James has ratcheted up his defense this season for the Cavaliers (17-3), who are off to one of their best starts in franchise history.

Cleveland center Zydrunas Ilgauskas also could snag a record of his own, entering the game needing four rebounds to break Brad Daugherty's team record of 5,227.
